Intended use
PorciExtend™ is a ready-to-use isotonic salt solution for extending Porcine semen prior to layering the semen on the gradient. This product does not contain any animal derived ingredients and therefore there is a minimal risk of contamination and transfer of disease. At the same time sperm survival is maximised.

- Unopened bottles have a shelf-life of 12 months
- pH of 7.25 - 7.35 at room temperature and at 37°C
- Low endotoxin levels (<1.00 EU/mL)
- Sterilised by filtration
- Content tested by sperm survival only
- Bottles are made of borosilicate glass and silicone stoppers with tamper-evident seals.
- Bottles and stoppers have been 2-cell M.E.A. tested

Storage and stability
Store unopened bottles at 2 - 40°C, avoid temperatures above or below these values. Under these conditions PorciExtend™ have a shelf life of 12 months. The expiry date is shown the labels.
Open and close bottles under aseptic conditions. After opening, store the bottles at 2 - 8°C.
No antibiotics, unstable additives or preservatives have been added to PorciExtend™
Precautions and Warnings
- To ensure best possible results use aseptic conditions at all times.
- When extending the semen, follow the instructions given in the insert to avoid inadvertent contamination.
- When centrifuging use sealed, buckets or centrifuge tubes, to avoid the creation of aerosols.
- PorciExtend™ does not represent any fire or combustion hazard. A material safety data sheet is available from the manufacturer or distributor.

Other products in the Porcine series include the PorciPure™ Top and Bottom Layer. This is density gradient system for purification of Porcine sperm through centrifugation. PorciWash™ is a medium for washing the sperm pellet after density gradient separation with PorciPure™. It also acts as a transfer medium for sperm from semen sample to fertilisation.
