BoviExtend™ is a ready-to-use isotonic salt solution for extending bovine semen. This product does not contain any animal derived ingredients and therefore there is a minimal risk of contamination and transfer of disease. At the same time sperm survival is maximised.

Storage and stability Store unopened bottles at 2 - 40°C, avoid temperatures above or below these values. Under these conditions BoviExtend™ have a shelf life of 12 months. The expiry date is shown the labels. Open and close bottles under aseptic conditions. After opening, store the bottles at 2 - 8°C. No antibiotics, unstable additives or preservatives have been added to BoviExtend™
Precautions and Warnings -To ensure best possible results use aseptic conditions at all times. -When extending the semen, follow the instructions given in the insert to avoid inadvertent contamination. -When centrifuging use sealed, buckets or centrifuge tubes, to avoid the creation of aerosols. - BoviExtend™ does not represent any fire or combustion hazard. A material safety data sheet is available from the manufacturer or distributor.
Other Bovine Products Other products in the bovine series include the BoviPure™ Top and Bottom Layer. This is density gradient system for purification of bovine sperm through centrifugation. BoviWash™ is a medium for washing the sperm pellet after density gradient separation with BoviPure™. It also acts as a transfer medium for sperm from semen sample to fertilisation.
